Role overview
About the KV Ledgers Team
- We make Daml code run. Our team is active across a variety of efforts:
- Developing the APIs that allow clients to connect to Daml ledgers
- Enabling the integration of Daml on existing distributed ledgers
- Making and keeping Daml Ledgers production-ready from an operational perspective
- Ensuring existing Daml codebases will keep working in the future
Key Responsibilities
- Work on the observability of our products by reviewing and improving the existing concepts for tracing, metrics, and logging
- Improve the way our products are deployed and operated
- Collaborate with our partners to integrate our products deployment and observability capabilities
- Write code (mostly in Scala), test it thoroughly and document its features for developers and users alike: https://github.com/digital-asset/daml
- Follow a collaborative approach that factors, embraces, and insists upon diverse perspectives: we are a small team where you matter and your opinion is valuable
Key Criteria
- Strong knowledge of a JVM language such as Java or Scala
- Experience with runtime instrumentation
- Familiarity with distributed tracing, log and metrics collection
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Strong debugging and investigative skills
Extra credit
- Experience with a functional programming language
- Experience with GKE or other managed Kubernetes
- Familiarity with GitOps or Infrastructure as code principles
